NASDAQ Deutschland to Suspend Operations

Frankfurt —The Vorstand of NASDAQ Deutschland announced today that, following an Extraordinary General Meeting of its shareholders held on 11 August 2003, it has decided to suspend trading on the electronic trading platform SuperMontage Europe on the Börse Berlin-Bremen with effect from August 29, 2003. The decision has been co-ordinated with the Börsenrat of the Börse Berlin-Bremen and the Supervisory Authorities of Berlin and Bremen.

The decision to suspend the operations of the market follows a review of the prospects of the business. The shareholders NASDAQ Europe, Commerzbank AG, comdirect bank AG and Dresdner Bank AG have transferred their stakes in the business to BWB Holding AG.
